Uebinger Christmas 2011

We were lucky enough to get everyone from the Uebinger side of the family together the weekend before Christmas. We were able to play cards, watch the grandkids run around, and Greg even got to hunt with his brother on Saturday morning. We had a great time, and as usual, Kate made a lot of noise and James slept through most of the craziness.

Mom Says "No, No, No" Too Much!

We have been thrilled to death that Kate has become much more vocal than she used to be. To that end, we talk all day long to her. Sometimes, we have to say, "No" and it appears she has caught on. And doesn't like it. And has gotten the point of wagging her finger in my face. Sigh. I wonder what she'll be like as a teenager? By the way, my favorite part of this video is her outfit. I mean, who doesn't walk around the house with a tiara, high heels, jeans, a tutu, and no shirt? She's gonna kill us when she gets older, but I happen to think her outfit is awesome!

Christmas Celebration

On Christmas Eve and Day, we celebrated with the Gobczynski side of the family. Greg and I hosted my parents and my brother and sister-in-law and their daughter at our house on Christmas Eve. Everyone agreed that if we had everyone come to our house, I wouldn't be required to cook. Thankfully for both me and them! So we rounded up some appetizers and spent some family time together. When we all get together, there are three grandkids under 3, so needless to say, it  gets a little loud. For the duration of both days, Kate ran around unwrapping presents and generally causing chaos. James and Shreya just hung out, and were the laid-back grandkids this year. James even got to hang out with Great Grandma Gobczynski, which was pretty special to me. Of course, on Christmas morning, Kate got everything she wanted from Santa, and she even got to open all the gifts for James. I'm thinking this might be the only year she can get away with that! We had our best Christmas yet, and we can't wait until next year, when we can do it all again! Merry Christmas!

Two Months Old

James is two months old today. The little guy had to be tough this morning since he had to get the first rounds of shots from the doctor today. Greg reported that he only cried a little bit, but still, it breaks my heart. So far today, he has been good; when Kate had her first round of shots, she cried all. day. long. James weighs 11 pounds, 11 ounces, and on the way to the scale, one of the nurses said, "He is so gorgeous." Greg was unsure if that compliment was meant for him or James. Somehow, I think I know who they were talking about. Sometimes I still can't believe James is here. And I really can't believe he is already two months old! I go back to work in less than two weeks, but I have enjoyed every last minute of staying home with him these past few weeks. I mean, look at the way he smiles at his mom in all the pictures below!
