Happy Halloween!

Since we already devoted a post to photos of Katie's flower costume for Halloween, we thought she could still get in the spirit of the holiday by wearing her skeleton jammies. These were Greg's favorite kind of jammies when he was little, so when I found these on sale, I bought them in every size all the way to 5t. (Guess Greg isn't the only one who is crazy around here!) He was thrilled when he found out, and for once, he wasn't mad that I spent money on a ton of clothes for Kate.

Go Illini

It's football season, so Kate has decided to rock the Illinois t-shirt we recently bought her. In every size from 12 months to 5t. Because her dad is crazy like that.

Missing Kate

Greg and I just got back from a four-day vacation with my side of the family. We all went on a cruise to the Bahamas, and we had a blast! Thanks go out to my parents, Bex and Leon, for the early Christmas present. While we were away drinking, swimming, and not being responsible parents, Greg's mom and dad graciously watched Katie for us. They took her to play dates, to church, and to visit countless relatives. Judging from the crying she did last night, I think she was sad when her time with Art and Terri was over. Needless to say, Greg and I are so happy to finally be home with her, despite all the fun we had over our extended weekend.

And a picture of Greg's (temporary) souvenir from Miami, where we flew out from. He got a henna replica for his favorite soccer team, Liverpool, on his arm. Clearly, I enjoyed staring at this throughout the duration of our vacation. At least it won't last for longer than a couple of weeks!

Sweet Potatoes

Katie was on the go this weekend. On Friday, Aunt Renee, Uncle Bud, Ben, Owen, Grandma and Grandpa came over. Katie had a great time chilling with Aunt Renee while I enjoyed playing "duck duck goose," "hide and seek," and "freeze tag" with the boys.

On Saturday afternoon, she went bridesmaid dress shopping in Vincennes, IN, with the Uebinger girls. Katie and Steph need to look good for Uncle John and Aunt Emily's wedding in March. Later that evening, all fifteen of us - grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins - ate at Joe's and went bowling.

I'm sure at this point you are wondering why this post is titled "Sweet Potatoes." Tonight, Katie enjoyed her very first solid meal. She relished every bite of her Gerber food.  Well, what actually made it into her mouth and not all over her face.

Happy Early Halloween

Happy early Halloween! As you can see, Katie is going to be a beautiful flower. She seems to like the outfit, and we are thrilled she still fits into it. The size is for 0-6 months, and most of the outfits she wears these days are 12 months or bigger. I actually bought this flower outfit and another monkey one almost a year ago, before we knew if we were having a boy or girl. Somehow, I can't see the monkey outfit being quite this cute on Katie.
