Birthday Party, Round Two

Here are a couple more photos from Kate's birthday party. It's just an observation, but I think Greg might love his girl a little bit.

Spray Bottles and Scissors

Last week, Katie got her first *ahem, cough* haircut. Really, she received the first one a couple of months ago, but it was just a little trim around the bangs, and like a rookie, I forgot to bring my camera. So we will all just count this haircut as her first official one. Okay? Anyway, Kate clearly doesn't like when she has to sit in the chair and be still, because she squirmed the whole ten minutes it took to get her hair cut. She didn't appreciate the spray bottle of water or people grabbing at her head either. By the way, just in case anyone was concerned for her emotional well being after seeing these pictures, she was fine about twenty seconds after she got out of the chair. She sat playing calmly with some toy keys. I'm shocked!

Happy Easter!

This past Friday, Kate's daycare had an Easter egg hunt for the kids in her room. I say Easter egg hunt loosely, since the eggs were simply scattered around the floor so they were easy to find. Kate and the other kids still loved running, and for Kate, scooting, around to retrieve the goodies. While she loved the egg hunting, she was not a fan of the Easter bunny, who briefly made a visit to her classroom. Even after grandma Uebinger tried to convince her that all was okay, she still wanted nothing to do with him - sitting on his lap, waving at him, and giving him high fives were all out of the question! Despite that, she seemed to have a great time during the Easter party at daycare; they take such great care of my girl!

Happy First Birthday, Kate!

Friday, April 15th, was Kate's first birthday, and we celebrated with a big party on Saturday. She enjoyed her day, despite being sick with an ear infection and strep throat. She loved all the gifts and attention she received from every one!  I can't believe how fast a year has flown by - she is getting too big!

Scootin' Around

Kate received this scooter/walker as an early birthday present from my mom and dad. I think it was more to encourage her to take steps of her own than anything birthday-related. She is, at times, alternately thrilled with the present or unsure of the present, as you can see from the photos below. As of right now, she has only figured out how to go backwards as she sits on the scooter. We know she will get the hang of it soon, but it is killing us to wait on her to figure it out!

Check Out My Sunglasses!

Lately, Kate has been outside enjoying this beautiful weather. She likes to sit on our sunporch in her daddy's lap and make silly faces at mommy's camera.
