Anjali and Reginald's Wedding

This past weekend, Kate, Greg and I all travelled to Chicago to see our friends, Anji and Reggie, get married. Anjali is the middle sister of Priya, my sister-in-law. The Soni family has been absolutely wonderful to our family, and we were so excited to share in their big day. The rehearsal dinner, wedding, reception, and family brunch on Sunday were all so much fun. Kate especially had a great time, as she ran around the wedding and reception hall for most of Saturday. She looked beautiful in the sari Priya's family got for her. They made a special trip to Devon Street in Chicago, which is one of the most multicultural streets in the whole city. Katie kept the white sari clean the whole day and pranced around like she knew she was in a special outfit. It really was an exciting weekend, and I think the whole family agrees with me that we had a great time!

We tried to keep Kate occupied by running around outside.

Here Kate is hanging out with dad outside at the reception.

She is goofing off and showing us how big she is.

Here's a close up of her sari. Isn't it beautiful?!

She is trying to talk both grandma's into getting her some spicy Indian food, since mom already said no!

Here Kate is with my parents. I think they might like her more than they like me!

Kate's New Chair

Kate has been all about being a big girl lately. To this end, Grandma and Grandpa Uebinger ended up getting the little munchkin her very own big girl chair from Pottery Barn. I love it because it matches her room perfectly. And it keeps her happy and occupied for the duration of a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episode, so that makes the chair invaluable to us. She really loves it, if you can't tell from the following photos.

Katie and Brady

My high school friend, Becky, and her husband, Brett, had Brady a year before we had Kate. The kids have been buds for awhile now, since we frequently get together with Becky and Brett. Kate and Brady also go to the same daycare, ahem, I mean, school (sorry, Greg!), so they see each other at least a little bit every day. The other night, Brett and Greg went out for wings and beer, so Bex and I stayed in with the kids. They had a great time running all over the house, and when they got sleepy, we decided matching pajamas were the only way to go. They seem to like the pj's - and each other!

Pigtails

When I was little, I used to be able to get whatever I wanted from my dad when I had my hair in pigtails. Now, Kate is repeating that pattern, because for the hour or so she had these in, Greg was putty in her hands. I'm thinking her next words should be, "Coach purse, please!"

Dad's Day Out with Kate

The other day, I wasn't feeling too well, so Greg offered to run errands with Kate for awhile while I laid down. He was going to guy-friendly places like Menards, Wal-Mart, and the bank, so we got Kate dressed and ready to go. Doesn't she look cute hanging out like a big girl with her daddy?

Posing in front of dad's truck

Trying to make a quick get-away in the front yard

Getting strapped in by dad; notice her wariness of this situation

Still a little unsure about this trip

Finally, all ready to go!
