Roll Over, Beethoven

For weeks now, Katie has been on the cusp of rolling over.  She has trained for this moment through innumerable tummy-time sessions.  All of her hard work finally paid off today. She rolled over. At first, it took a couple of tries, a little assistance from mom and dad and a lot of crying. In the end, she did it by herself, and we are very proud of her.

Dad Sleeping on the Job

I snapped these pictures quickly and quietly the other afternoon. I thought it was pretty cute seeing Dad hanging out with Katie while I got some housework done. However, I want you to notice which person is sleeping and which one is WIDE AWAKE! She never lets us get away with anything!

The Conversationalist

Lately, Katie has been much more vocal. When around adults, she must be part of the conversation. She thinks the noises she makes contribute something to the conversation taking place around her. Last week, Aunt Renee requested we showcase these talents in a video, so we made sure to capture one of her many conversations on the video below. Enjoy!

Weekend Fun

Greg and I have taken Katie all over town the last couple of days. Katie and I spent time visiting with my friend Jodi and her kids, Annie and Lane, on Friday afternoon. Later that night, we went to the Relay for Life event at T-town Junior High, and then we spent time with some of our favorite people, Dave and Kate Ruff. Today, we went back to T-town it visit my parents' house. Tomorrow, we head to church and then, who knows what the day might bring?

Inundated by Uebingers

Katie has had lots of visitors from the Uebinger side of the family over the last couple of days. Greg and I took her to his parents' house on Sunday afternoon to see aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ryan and Julie, Greg's brother and his wife, were there along with their kids, Hannah and Wade. Greg's youngest brother, John, was also there with his fiancee, Emily. Later, on Monday, Ryan and Julie came to the house for some quality family time. At least, that's what they told us. I think it was just a ploy to have more Katie time! Anyway, it has been wonderful to spend time with family, especially over the holiday weekend.

Summer School

Steph is enrolled in two English classes this summer. This leaves me solely responsible for Katie every Monday and Wednesday night. The first night I was apprehensive. Before, there was the option of double-teaming Katie; now it was just one-on-one.

That night went by without complication and now I eagerly anticipate our time together. We read, take stroller-rides, and watch soccer. Despite the fun we have with each other, we are both always excited to see mom when she arrives home.
