Kate's Art

One of the best things about daycare, in my opinion, is that they are so creative with the time Kate spends there. She has curriculum in the morning, and part of that is making projects to bring home. So far, these are the art projects she has been doing this fall. They all tie to a theme, and her teachers are clearly patient with our beginning artist! They are almost as excited as Kate usually is to show me what she has done. Here is an assortment of the most creative things she has brought home for us.

This one she did last spring, but I had to include it because the picture is just too cute! Notice her John Deere t-shirt!

A squirrel that is only half-brown.

A scary bat that has misshapen unique wings.

A tree you can tell she didn't enjoy making because she got messy. The brown part is from her arm and the green is her hand. The red apples are fingertips, and her teachers told me she didn't like this project. She is Greg's kid, for sure.

A spooky spider made out of her handprints.

A fall tree made with LOTS of glue.

A wreath that has beautiful fall leaves.

This picture is hilarious! They took it outside on a windy day, right after she took her hair out of the cute pigtails it was in. Sigh.

A jack-o-lantern like none you have ever seen before.

A fall leaf that she couldn't wait to show me.

This project is by far my favorite one. They had the kids lay down and they traced their bodies and then had the kids color with their favorite colors. Kate drew all over the project, as you can see. I loved it, but Greg's reaction was that he thought it looked like a miniature murder crime scene. I mean, I truly hope this kid survives us!
