Snow Day

Today was a snow day from school. This gave me an opportunity to have a great conversation with my daughter. It was mostly one-sided.

Snow!

Today, Katie woke up to the first real snowfall she has ever seen. She loved it! I opened up the curtains in her room so she could see for herself all the swirling and drifting. She stood at her window, balancing herself for about ten seconds, just to catch a glimpse of the weather outside. I think she even started to talk to the snow!

Wintertime

Lately, it has been exceptionally cold outside. We have started to wrap Kate up a lot more any time she goes outside: on errands, to daycare, or over to grandma and grandpa's house. My mom got her this cute little lamb hat from Target, and I was sure Katie would love it. I was wrong.

We tried to get her used to the hat before we put it on her.

Dad trying to get the hat on for the first time; Katie already looks suspicious.

She was okay with it, for about three seconds. See how cute she looks?!

Forget this; she wants the hat off immediately.

She can't quite figure out how to take it off herself.

A little arm waving action helps things out. This is when it started to get loud.

Look at that face that just screams, How could you guys do this to me?

Attempt number two: it still wasn't a hit.

She was just fine after we let her play with it as a toy.

She's just like her father - this girl hates change!

Tough Day at the Office

Last night, while Greg and I had dinner, we were laughing and talking at the kitchen counter. Suddenly, we look over at Kate and see this:

She's clearly got a rough life.

Jammie Time

These last few days, Greg had to work all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. So, Kate and I decided to just hang around in our pajamas having a lazy weekend. She looks a lot cuter in hers than I do in mine.

Black Friday

Katie and I spent our Black Friday together playing with her ball popper. As much as I love shopping, I avoid the crowds and craziness every year. I only shopped online a little bit. Don't tell Greg!

Home Alone; Disclaimer: Katie was not Left Unattended

Greg and I watched Home Alone today, one of our favorite holiday traditions. Maybe it was the fact that we were the same age as Macaulay Culkin when the movie came out, but WE LOVE THIS MOVIE!  This year is extra special, because we got to introduce Katie to our little family tradition. We already have the tree and decorations up, so it felt like the holiday season already. Anyway, as we were watching the movie, we noticed a scene where Kevin just woke up and has crazy hair. Notice any similarities? No wonder we love this movie!
