James's One Year Photos & Our 2012 Christmas Card Photo Session

We have been going a million miles an hour around here, but the good news is that my semester is almost done, and Greg has a bit more regular schedule now that the holidays are approaching. Speaking of holidays, I went to get the kids' photos done for our annual Christmas card, and they turned out so much better than I expected! Notice that I said me only; Greg has somehow managed to avoid every single photo session that the kids have done for the last two and a half years. I am not quite sure how he sweet talks his way out of these grueling photo appointments, but he does! The one session he did show up for, back in May, was for our family photos. Even then, he ducked after about twenty minutes. To, ahem, mow the lawn. Every time we do this, I come out all sweaty, thirsty, and frustrated, and I always think the photos can't possibly be worth all this hassle. However, every time, I have been proven wrong. After all, look at these cuties!

James' Big Party

Today, we held James' first official birthday party. It was a couple of weeks, ahem, late. With the general business of moving houses, having a one and two-year old, and the chaos that is Greg's work schedule, we found time to put together a great party for him. We invited grandparents, aunts, uncles, and lots of cousins and friends. James had entirely too much fun demolishing his smash cake, but I was able to clean him up quickly so that he could chat with his guests and open several presents. We all had a wonderful day, and I know James is excited to be a big boy who is finally one!
