Summer Silliness

This summer, we have been on the go! In this first picture, James has a big boy haircut, which makes him look about five years old.

Here, grandpa Gobczynski smuggled donuts into the kids, who of course, loved them!

These are pictures of the kids cheesing around during lunch. Elmo helped James finish his pizza.

James really enjoyed watching the fireworks this year, and he especially enjoyed sitting on dad's lap.

When we went to Kansas City to visit Renee and Jeremy, we went to the train restaurant. James was a bit skeptical about his hat, while Kate loved sitting next to dad like a big girl.

Grandpa Gobczynski is always James's buddy in the pool!

This girl....She is stressing me out already! This is what I get when I told her to "show mommy some attitude!"

All this summer activity sure wears a boy out.

Visiting grandpa Gobczynski's insurance office. Wouldn't you buy some policies from her?

Kate's First Dentist Appointment

Last week, Kate had her first experience at the dentist's office. Fortunately for us, and her, one of our good friends is a dentist. She also happens to have a daughter who is Kate's age, and she is fantastic with kids. Alli took Kate back to the exam room, and Kate couldn't have done better. She sat up in the chair and listened to Alli's instructions and explanations like a champ. Kate had no cavities and minimal plaque, so we were happy and I was so proud of her! Kate really did a great job, and we can't thank Dr. Schumacher enough!

Summer Fun Time

After several rainy and cool weeks in May and early June, we have...finally...been able to get in and enjoy the pool! We moved into this house in October, and the pool cover has been staring us in the face all winter, so needless to say, we have been very excited to begin using it. The kids, and Greg, have made use of it every day for the last two weeks. We have two little fish on our hands, and I couldn't be happier about their level of comfort in the water. Let's just say that is a characteristic inherited from me, not their dad.

Here is James, after we asked him for the first time if he wanted to go swimming outside.

This is Kate's first toe dip in her new pool! She spent the next hour or so hanging out with dad, splashing and having fun.

Kate and James are excited to play with all their new pool toys.

Kate cheesin' in her new Minnie Mouse swim goggles.

On the way to the farm!

Kate and dad, working on her jumping and going under the water.

Swimming sure wears a girl out!

Kate said, "Dad, we need one of these!" I think he agrees.

We took the kids to see Mater, and they loved it!

Kate and James had such a great time at the farm with their cousins.

James and Kate helped me bake a cake this summer, and they ate more batter than ended up in the cake!
